Rust on frame shackle broke off.
 

So i just bought by 99 ford ranger super cab 3.0 4x4. Its was a single owner and this guy kept it in a garage for 10 years... which is terrible for a vehicle I know. The body looks fantastic, but the frame is a different story. The shackle broke on the right side resulting in the leaf hitting the bed. The other side is almost ready to snap as well. I managed to attach the newly bought shackle on the broken side and as im trying to repair the other side... the rust is terrible. Im going to attempt to take it to a local weld shop and see if they can fab something up for me. My question is.. anyone else that has had a similar problem how did you fix it, or to anyone reading this is there any suggestions? I love this truck and would love to see it repaired.
