keep in mind, shocks dont have anything to do with height, only ride control. shocks dont hold any weight. you say you had the leafs rebuilt, what exactly did they do? did they replace them? or rearch them? or just throw in new bushings? you cant really rebuild a spring, once theyre shot theyre shot. you may just want to go by jacks (junkyard in billereica) sometime and yank a pair of explorer leafs and swap em into there. they have a few newer explorers there that woul dbe perfect for it, you could probly grab both of em for around 100 bucks and I can give you a hand throwin em into your truck sometime.

if one side is sagging then the leafs are pretty much just shot. explorer leafs will bolt right into your truck (thats what i have in the back of mine, with no blocks mind you) and they will help with any sag in your springs, plus when they get put in put the driverside from the explorer in the passengerside and the passengerside from the explorer into the driverside of the ranger. the things that normally cause the sag on the driverside are the gas tank and the drivers weight being constantly on that side. if you want a hand ill go down to jacks with you one of these weekends and we can grab the leafs and swap em into your truck, easy as pie. hell, to save you some cash we can pull em from the ex ourselvs in the yard and then just walk up to them and ask how much they want. an AAL will only mask the issue you have of shot leaves. let me know if you're interested in doin it, i have to get by there and get a couple brackets off a 78 f-series they have there and could use a second set of hands and now that its starting to warm up i dont mind being outside as much.

since the exlporer's have the 31 spline axels (from what i remember reading) i dont think you can use the u-bolts from an explorer. Probably just re-use the ones you have. Unless you have a 31 spline rearend but you probably don't. its most likely a 28 like mine

nah, your u-bolts will work fine, some rangers even have the 4 leaf packs, ford sent things out of the factory in all sorts of different combinations. but keeping the same axle well use the same u-bolts. the explorer leafs are the same width as yours so they are a bolt in, and using the same 2 in block that you have in there now the u-bolts will be the correct length. now if you didnt want to use the blocks, wed grab a set of u-bolts from a 2wd ranger when we were there (hell, they only wanted 5 bucks last time i walked up with a set of u-bolts i pulled) but youll be fine, everything bolts right up.
