most likely got wrecked when it was stolen and then fixed if you notice the front fender body lines dont match up with the door.. but for $3000 if it runs good i would buy it... hell i am looking at a ST with 185k on it and a blow motor lol..

Like others said, it was wrecked and probably considered totalled. The salvage title will always follow it and unless you plan on parting it, or keeping it forever you wont get much back for it. I see its registered in CA, AFAIK CA is the toughest on vehichle standards and insurance. Id say check into the insurance (INS CO's might not cover it) and registration before you do anything, if you plan to keep it

After looking at the pics, I wouldn't bother with it.

The salvage title isn't what bothers me, I've repaired lots of trucks with a salvage titles, most were flood damage or recovered thefts. A salvage title is usually issued when an insurance company auctions it off as such, most often to a junk yard. A theft can become salvage if it's recovered after the insured has been paid for the loss and the vehicle was found after the fact, often damaged to some extent.

The part that would bother me on that truck is that there are so many things that are obviously wrong, that would lead me to believe that it's a patched up or thrown together mess. It wouldn't bother me a bit having been wrecked if it were repaired properly, but a properly repaired vehicle doesn't look like that.

In that condition, I would only value it at a salvage price, and at 104K, that truck looks like it's had a rough life. You could be looking at a truck that's been submerged, wrecked, and neglected. You have no way of telling what will fail first, even if you decided it was worth it to you to repair the obvious problems.

I would keep your truck, and only buy that if your looking for a project, but I would venture to guess that by the time your done getting the bugs out of truck like that, it would have been cheaper to buy a clean one with no damage at all.

As someone who has seen way more Jumped cars than I'd like to, I wouldn't be surprised if it was jumped. It has the signature Angling fron the center to the front.

Not as extreme

My Jeep is a salvage title. It wa stolen and entered as a complete loss... When it was found it could not be given a normal title. The only thing they had to do to it was replace the pass fender.

I am sure there are some good deals on salvage titles
watch out for complications down the road though with the vehicle, your insurance and the blessed government
