Big Tires

Some rangers come stock with 3.55 or even 3.27 (I believe) gears.
You think it's okay to run 33's on 3.27 gears?
It depends on what engine, tranny, and what you intent to do with the truck. I would say, since he has a 4.0L and manual transmission, you would want atleast 3.73 gears. 4.10's would be ideal, and 3.55's would be pushing it. 3.55's will strain the clutch a lot more and make towing or hauling anything difficult. If you just plan on driving mostly empty and not over any big mountains, it might be okay. Not fun, but 'okay'.
I ran 33's with the same engine/tranny on my ranger, with 3.73 gears. It was 'okay' driving around lightly loaded, but pulling a trailer or hauling a lot kind of sucked. Had to slip the clutch a lot to get started on a hill, even lightly loaded. Lots of mountains around here too. Pretty much any four-wheeling had to be done in 4low, unless it was a light dusting of snow. Mud/sand/deep snow all bogged the drivetrain down too much.
