Scan gauge or Rear end

Should I have my mom buy me a rear end or scan gauge for christmas? I can not decide. If I have her buy me the scan gauge, I will still probably buy the rear end. If I have her buy the rear end, I will probably not buy a scan gauge. I can't decide.

Scan gauge = $160
Rear End that I want = $80 plus what ever else to mount it

Depends if you want to save yourself some money or if you want your mom to save some money.

I would like to get one simply for the temperature and code reading options.

Save up and buy the rear end yourself.

I would get the rear end, the ScanGauge is more of a novelty then anything. Sure it can help you get a few more MPG and shows some other usefull info but I'd rather have a regeared rearend.

Holy crap if you can find a disc, 4.10, LS Ex rear buy that no questions asked. Those go for at least 300+ in the Jeep world, you'd be a fool to NOT buy that axle for 80 bucks!
