Sct livewire tuner question

I want to buy the sct livewire tuner for my 2001 ford ranger xlt (3.0v6) and there website says it will work but I can't find a place online that sells them...does it need to be specific to my model of ranger or is it universal? Links would help a ton!

Thanks everyone -ETHEN-

I don't know much about the livewires. I have a SCT X3 and its pretty awesome I must say. There is lots of places to buy a refurbed X2 or brand new X3.

If you happen to have an android phone I would wait for "AVID" bluetooth odbII adapter and app from superchips.. *should be cheaper and have more features. Might be worth your while to get an android phone just for that reason.

That said.. SCT Performance - More Power! Less Fuel! dealer locater...
They need to be loaded with stock vehicle-specific-generic tunes.
More specific "custom" mail order tunes by Lasota racing are less generic and include tweaks for aftermarket performance parts..
Its best to have the tunes made specifically for your vehicle on a dyno at a local dealer.

your 3.0L will still be slow but may be a bit more peppy. not worth 500 bones imo.
Only reason I want one is to program my transmission shift points and firmness for larger tires.

This says the program is called Superchips Vivid.. The bluetooth dongle itself is the AVID.

Superchips turns an Archos into a vehicle interface, dubs it 'Vivid' -- Engadget

"With the addition of a few inexpensive accessories, the Superchips VIVID will work as a GPS unit, backup camera monitor and much more." Superchips VIVID is the most powerful device in the industry with a 1GHz processor and does more than tuning including high-speed web browsing; e-mail; social media integration; wireless connectivity; loads of memory; apps for pictures, music and video along with a host of unique Superchips apps such as Performance Tuning, Gauge Set, Maintenance Minder, Driving Coach, Inclinometer and G-Force Meter.

The realtime data would be a cool feature fo sho! Android tablets mounted in visors, etc...

GB :)

The Vivid is the name they gave the Modified Archos tablet system they put together, from my understanding there is a second device due out in the summer.

From engadget...
"but those who already have a little Android buddy will be happy to know that a standalone Bluetooth dongle called the AVID will be releasing in the summertime, enabling all the same functionality without the need for another device."

Haven't got them yet. Picking up my 36lb injectors, Lightning MAF and wideband 02 data logger before I get the flash tuner.
