Sea Foam at Oil Change

If you've done your oil changes religiously with quality oil there's really no need. BUT... That being said sea foam is not like other motor flushes that basically load up you crankcase with kerosene. Seafoam is harmless when you use the recommended amount. (I think its something like one ounce per quart). So go for it if you want, and then you can use the rest of the can in your gas tank. It's one of very few chemicals I trust and have seen actually work. Im also a fan of using it through the intake but only with the aerosol version.

I have only owned this vehicle for about a month or so, so I have no idea how well the oil maint has been done. I expect it was done regularly since it is 26 years old and runs so well. This will be my first time to change it and I am going with the high milege Valvoline. Always had good luck with it. Thanks for the reply!

I dont like to drive with it in the crankcase - figured low RPM no load is good enough. I drive around get the oil hot, come back to the driveway and dump in the recommended amount and let it idle for a good 5-10 min. I sometimes go real easy around the block but come back let it cool a tad then drain it and let it run till no drips. If i have a new bottle of cheap stuff i sometimes use it like a flush and let it wash out whatever gunk is in the pan. Once its done draining then i put bolt and filter back and refill.
