help me diagnose please

Help me diagnose that clunk please. I have a front end clunk upon start up, bug bumps, and wide turn bumps. i thought it was shocks but they look good and i cant move them by hand. i thought maybe the U joint that attaches to the tranny but i dont know how to tell if its that. i dont have any steering wheel shudder. 2wd 3.0

thanks

I don't fully understand your description (start up, meaning engine start or drive away); I've never heard of a bug bump (but I do know what a speed bump is) and I think by wide turn bump you mean a bump encountered when making a turn as in driving around a street corner. I also don't know what year your ride is. However, if what you are describing is a clunk/bang that happens while driving over speed bumps, potholes, big cracks in the road and the like, I'd suspect ball joints or something else in the suspension is lose. Of course, it could also be other things such as a loose heat shield. A good visual/grab and feel test of underside components is in order, and if it passes that I'd zero in on the suspension parts.
