My Ranger almost didn't pass inspection...
Due to the fact of 3 reason's.
1.) My tires stick out too far.
2.) My bumper is on the limit of how high it can be.
3.) My bumper mounted lights arn't wired into my low beams?
The guy that did the inspection let me off easy. But this brings up a question. He said the bumpers have to be between 16-30 in. from the ground. My rear bumper is right on 30". So if I put my body lift on, I won't pass inspection? How retarded is that? Anyone here that also lives in PA...how did your truck do in inspection? This is kinda a bummer for me.

Some states are rediculous.
Texas can be as well if they go by the book, I grew up there, lived there from 1978 until 1995. I beilieve 36 inches is the max there for bumper height, but I think we are measured from the headlight down at 40 inches max. Been a while since I lived there.
Either way, it's always something from someone for doing what you enjoy man, just have to be sure you are willing to pay to play because someone will ALWAYS inspect it, if you have the cash of course.

**** that man, take it to another shop. all the ones up my way dont check bumper height...and for good reason LOL.
but next time, if u need to...get a set of cheap wheels/tires and put them on before inspection. that way they wont stick out and ur bumper height will be ok...and they cant do a dam thing about u putting the mudders on after its inspected ;-)...

Yea, he did. FL doesn't have inspections.
Mine didn't pass inspection on Monday morning. I came home thursday night and replaced the upper ball joints, put some power steering fluid in it, and took it to get inspected Friday morning. The guy didn't even remember inspecting it Monday and totally missed that I have no front license plate.

Suggestions for reasons.
1) Tires: I'd get flares or get an 8" rim. The tires in PA can only stick out 2.5" outside the fenderwell.
2) Your bumper is not. My truck is body lifted, Torsions cranked all the way and i'm running 34" tires and i'm at the bottom of legal limit for my size truck. You measure to the bottom part of your chrome bumper.
Stone: That is a gamble here that some people take but a lot of inspection places will ask if you are running bigger tires and such. The thing is if you get pulled over and the officer sees that you have passed inspection stickers and decides to do an all around check himself and finds something wrong it can go back on the inspection station. I know this because i tried that also and was told nope.
Edit: Just a FYI. It's a $600 fine for your tires sticking out of your fenderwells. (Told by a state cop)
