I lost the spring that helps move the seat forward. Must have rolled off my bench into the waste basket.

Have to buy the entire mechanism from Ford to get that spring - cost? - I didn't even ask. Hardware store springs (tried Ace and Lowes) don't even come close because it's a pretty specialized spring; it stretches from 2-1/2 inches to 11-1/4 inches.

Sure, I can fix up something that will work - rather have that spring. Any ideas how to get one?

Didn't think a wrecking yard would sell a spring off a seat.

This morning I managed a good temp fix with 2 springs I had. Probly be temp till the tires rot.....

Found it! Behind a box of screws on the 3rd shelf I dismantled. They needed cleaning anyway.
