Seats Again
Seats Again
I have a 95 ranger REGULAR cab with 60/40 worn out seats. I want to replace them. Has anyone swapped newer (1998-2004) 60/40 seats from an EXTENDED CAB to a 1995 REGULAR CAB without major modification or fabrication. (I do not want mustang, bronco, explorer, tempo, crown Vic, deuceburg, Ferrari, etc. Ranger seats will be fine) I have no problem swapping mounts or drilling and taping new holes. I do not want to fabricate new mounts. I have searched the net, but found too much conflicting info. ANY HELP WOULD BE APRECIATED. Thanks.
I took a pair of 2003 LvL-II Bucket Seats (40/20/40) and after swapping the bolt on tracks, I put them in my 2003 EDGE Reg Cab that had a 60/40 setup.
When you look for seats, no matter what type, look for seat that have Bolt-On Tracks to the seats, that way you can make up adapters if necessary, to mount the '95 Seat Tracks to the Seats you pick.
Since you are looking for Seats that are 10 plus years old, you might have to do some clean up to the seat.
It is doable but the exact fitment is not something I know exactly; start measuring !

Im not sure havent looked at my seats yet i know the driver side is in bad condition but i have seat covers over both seats when I bought the truck and the seat covers are completly fine with me and they look better than the original seat they are ford ranger specific seat covers so it looks like the seat doesnt have a cover over it their really nice
Depending on the Truck Model, you have a few choices, Junk Yard availability is another thing, but there seems to always is a Ranger in there, does it have bucket seats... you will have to see.
There is another possibility, the passenger seats are the same seats as the driver's side except for the Lumbar Adjustment, the seat track are different but IF they are the bolt-on type then you should be able to swap the tracks and use a Passenger Seat in the Driver's position.
Just something thing on, just in case !
I tried the Explorer Leather Seats in mt Std Cab EDGE, I am 6'2" and there wasn't a lot of room and the seats were a little higher than I liked. A friend had some FX4 LvL II Bucket Seats and wanted to swap... best thing I ever did. I have new seat covers but haven't put them on yet but will sooner than later.
There are a lot of possibilities for seats, read the How-To's on this Site and other Ranger Sites and you will get an idea of what to do. I found sticking to Ranger specific Bucket Seats makes the easiest swap but also the hardest to find.
There is a Seat Cover Maker on one of the Ranger Sites, they make Ranger Specific Seat Covers, most any configuration AND they use the same material.
Good Luck on your search for seats or at least Covers.
