Sent Ford an Email about Ranger Fate and Duplicate window sticker.

Well I was curious to find out about getting a duplicate window sticker for my truck as well as I put in a comment about the Ranger phase out while I was at it and here was my response.

Dear Ben,

Thank you for contacting the Ford Motor Company Customer Relationship Center regarding your 2004 Ford Ranger duplicate window sticker request.

Window stickers for all vehicles are generated at the assembly plant. If you are the original owner of the vehicle, you may contact your original selling dealership to request a copy of the window sticker. However, just to let you know, with this changes in our product line-up, Ford Motor Company will continue investing in and further growing our Ford F-Series line-up with new powertrains and improved performance.

For the 2011 model year, the Ford F-150 features four new truck engines and a new six-speed transmission that will deliver best-in-class towing and horsepower. In addition, the entire 2011 Ford F-150 lineup will be at least 20 percent more fuel-efficient that today's Ford F-150 lineup. This is the most extensive power overhaul in Ford F-150's history.

Moreover, we have the 2011 Ford F-150 XLT custom package with the all-new 3.7-liter V6 engine aimed at the entry-level personal use buyer. This new Ford F-150 series will be ideal for Ford Ranger owners interested in a pickup. For Ford Ranger customers interested more in affordable transportation than an entry-level truck, we now either have or soon will offer many new affordable vehicles including the Ford Fiesta, Focus, 7-passenger Grand C-Max and the Ford Transit Connect.

While we are unable to comment on our future product plans, rest assured Ford will continue to offer our customers products that will deliver the kind of utility and capability you've come to expect from Ford.

Once again, thank you for taking the time to let us know how you feel about the conclusion of the Ford Ranger's product line-up.

If you have any other inquiries, please feel free to contact us and we will be happy to address them for you.

Sincerely,
Carlo
Customer Relationship Center
Ford Motor Company

ew, the transit connect, and the c-max are ugly as **** lol.

not sure why they refer to the c-max for other vehicles ranger owners can check out, hahahah.

sorry, didn't mean to fill your thread with ugly vehicles not to mention, I would feel like I belong in japan, if I was riding around in a c-max with 7 people in it.. lol.

They just don't get it. Not everybody wants.. or needs a full-size. If I were worried about power or fuel efficiency... i wouldn't own a ranger. Ford is stupid.

that letter is totally cookie cutter.....
if i had to choose down the road for the extra room. out of all mid size/compact trucks, i'd probably get a colorado crew. i don't like the ST and i don't want to spend that much on a full size or i'd have to look at used f-150s

So you would rather drive a smaller truck with less space and gets worse gas mileage then have more space and get better gas mileage?

ya that makes sense

^^not everyone wants that large of a truck.

its way wider and definitely longer.

some people don't have the accommodations to drive a vehicle that big. therefore the ranger comes into play.

No, we would rather have a smaller truck that can fit into tighter spaces, who don't need the extra space because it's useless to most of us Ranger owners. That should have more power and better fuel economy than a full size but Ford is too stupid to understand this.

Agreed. My dad's 08 F-150 SCREW fits in any spot my Ranger has. It gets better gas mileage, hauls more, tows more, and it'll carry 5 people comfortably. The F-150 isn't really that much bigger either:

Does it really matter that there won't be a new Ranger? There's tons of used ones for sale.

Thank you. When you are constantly in tiny little parking spots, and in lots of traffic like I am in Cali, you want a smaller vehicle to squeeze into tight spaces. I don't need more ability to tow, I almost never tow with this truck, and my ranger does all the hauling I need it to do. My gas mileage isn't terrible, and I'm not gonna switch to a full-size because I want better fuel economy. If I wanted a full-size, I wouldn't want a v-6. I love my ranger, but I am not brand loyal, I will switch to a chevy if ford wants to be retarded, and it means I get what I want out of a truck.

Because no one buys Rangers anymore, Obviously if the Ford Ranger was a popular seller these days they would keep it in production. When I bought my 04 the salesman told me then that the Rangers fate was doomed.

Agreed.

My next truck will be a Colorado or a Dakota.

Thats well and good now but in 5 years the last (US) FX4 will be a 2009 and it will extremely outdated. Its not that we want the Ranger continued it's that it needs (as has needed since like 04) redesigned.

I guess I'm in that 1% of the population that wants them to keep the Ranger as is. I like them the way they are. Except for different powerplant options I wouldn't change a thing.

My truck is 10 years old and I see no need to get anything newer. My truck serves it's purpose just fine. If something goes wrong, I'll fix it or rebuild it

try parking in my neighbourhood.

amen to this. i live where there is on street parking and it's a pain sometimes. if i'm not home by a certain time, i have to walk a block and a half since no one is considerate enough to think of the other drivers. even at the mall on a busy shopping day. i can park in spots that are half covered in a snow bank and get out when i know that a full size wouldn't even be able to look at it.
i've got a friend that works in a hotel and i visit some nights. there are three spots, one is taken up by her car, the other two are either next to a support pillar or a 2 foot wall for the parking ramp. i've shuffled into both spots when some one in a larger vehicle is hugging both lines of their space.

it is what it is. politics and ford's is they wanna sell more full size. to do so they eliminate the competition. even if it is their own models.
another option is to buy a exploder. it's not a truck anymore but it has towing, seats 4+ and is comparable in size.

this is why the ranger is doomed. There is no reason for people to replace their old trucks. So little has changed, there really is no reason to buy a newer truck. I bought an 03 level II because it had the manual transfercase. If they made a 2011 level II with manual transfercase Id be driving that instead.
