Shackles & Shims help.
My T-bars are maxed and I have AAL's, but the rear of my truck still sits lower in the rear because of the camper top. I want to put shackles in the back to finish leveling out the rear, but do I need shims. I really don't understand how to figure it out, so please HELP!
Gatorblue92 has shackles and AAL's and no shims and is still with in spec. Would I be too? Does having an extended cab affect anything? Thanks for the help! Mike |

I had shackles and AALs for the longest time with no shims. Pinion angle was still within spec and I'm still on the factory u-joints if that tells you anything. Now I have just the shackles (for now) and its within spec.
Once you get the shackles installed you'll probably know right away if you need shims because you'll get a vibration. |
I guess in that case I should go ahead and get the shims when I order the shackles and if I don't need them, send them back. Would having a longer wheelbase because of the extended cab affect anything?

It shouldn't. If anything the driveshaft will be at less of an angle than a regular cab since its longer.

OK, thanks for the help!
