shifter knob on a 93

shifter **** on a 93

i have a 93 ranger and want to put a new shifter **** on it (its a five speed manuel) i am not sure how it comes off, i have tried to twist it off but cant seem to get it, has anyone done this that may be able to help? thank you.

This is not an easy task. Put it can be done. Use heat and one strong arm.

Pull and twist. Be sure the new one is straight before you push it all the way down.

Heat and pull . The shaft is splined so the **** won't twist off.

Pull, if you don't care about the old one. get a pair of channel locks. they help.

ok thanks, second question where can i find a good one with the splines. most i have found are the ones that screw on.
