Fuel Tank Debris

I put in a can of Sea Foam into my trucks tank. My dad had a little bit left in one can so I took off the plastic cap and without looking poured the little bit left into the tank. Well my dad left the plastic seal cover thing sitting under the main cap. The little plastic seal went into my gas tank. There is no catch thing like his F-150 so I'm guessing it went all the way into the tank. I figured the plastic piece was ment not to deteriorate so it should be ok and just float around is my guess.? Should I worry about it or will the fuel filter catch it? If it catches it will my truck run like crap and will I have to get it fixed? I feel so dumb for letting this happen. Let me know what your opinions are on what I should do or whatever you think. Yeah I know, it sucks.

Thanks

There is a large screen that covers the face of the pump. You'll be fine.

btw, the filter is *after* the pump. It won't catch anything that big. It only catches whats already flowed through the pump.

Thanks, now I feel somewhat better. I wish the Ranger had that little catch thing near the filler part where I put gas in. Then none of this would have happened.

Not right now but I added a can maybe 5k miles ago. I haven't changed anything else and my MPG has increased a few MPG. The only thing it can be is the Sea Foam. I haven't changed anyhting else with the truck or my driving habits. I usually get 17-18 MPG in the city. Before I used Sea Foam I'd get 15-16 MPG. Highway driving I now get 20-22 (also after the first can of Sea Foam 5k miles ago) like I used to when I was stock. I also drive around like a grandpa usually so that also helps.

I've heard so many good things about sea foam, it just kinda baffles me that somethin so simple as to adding a can of that stuff to your tank will improve mpg!

(not doubting you at all by any means)

in fact I may go out and get myself some of that

You should be ok. It will eventually deteriorate (it has to!). Even if it just floats around...your fine.

I love seafoam...i use it all the time. That and marvel mystery oil.

Yeah I don't know how Sea Foam works to improve MPG but it has to be better than all those other cheap "cleaners". Give it a shot Lone Ranger it only like $5 a can at Walmart.

it leaves a smoke screen. put a third of a can into a vacum line in your engine bay. when it gets burned off and goes through the exhaust, it smokes like a pothead. search on youtube.

To be exact it was $5.47 a bottle. I guess it's more expensive in other parts of the country or maybe it's because I bought it at the famous Wal-Mart!
