BED LINER

Looking to buy a hard bed liner are they 1 pc or are the topside rails separate. I think the rear gate is separate. saw one in local yard and had no top side rails. can the side rails be purchased ?

some bedliners are "under the rails"
some go over the rails. depends on the type you want.
most prefer the "under the rails" type, then get seperate rail protectors.

i have a under rail with rail protectors on the way. the only think you need to remember about about under rails is it need s to be one that goes over the front of the bed. if it sits under the lip in the bed it will catch debris and rust out your bed. grab a ford one at pull-a-part.

or spray/roll-on one and not have to worry about anything getting between the liner and the bed.

to each their own but this is something i would spend the extra money on.

Check your local spray on shop. Around here they have plenty of drop in styles, they can't give them away. I drive by a Line-X all the time and they have piles of them. They gave one away no charge when I was there.

Drop-in, I'd just suggest getting a high quality liner. I've had several "Ford" liners and they never warp, but the one time I went with a cheap liner it warped. As for spray liner, Line-X is good...just make sure an idiot doesn't get behind the nozzle - last month I had two Ram trucks in my shop with Line-X liners and one looked new and the other was a putrid mixture of bubbles and peels. Never had a problem with Ford drop-ins in the last 21 years, see no need to ever change.
