Insurance Companies

Hey guys, I went to my insurance company today and they said they will not insure my truck because it has modified suspension. So I was wondering where you guys have you're modified trucks insured?

I have State Farm insurance and they don't care that I have the lift or the 302.

Maurice had that problem with State Farm last year when someone pulled out in front of him. They said they would only insure his truck until the end of the current 6 month term. It was because the truck was lifted above stock height. State Farm's new policy seems to be any altered suspension.

Allstate. I even asked after I modified my suspension if they would still cover it or if there was anything special I needed to do. They said no and I was good to go.

I have had progressive for 8 years now and they have never said anything to my about a suspension modification. I even totaled a '95 ranger 5 years ago and it had a 4" superlift and a 3" body lift sitting on 36" swampers.

State Farm here. All they said is that they would not cover damage to the aftermarket suspension components.

I use Progressive. They have an option to insure aftermarket parts, so I put an extra $3500 on it. They said it would cover any aftermarket stuff such as a stereo or modified suspension etc. only added a couple bucks a month, so I thought what the hell and did it since Ive spent so much on modifying this thing already

If you dont want to pay extra for that, they will still insure the value of the truck itself even if its lifter/lowered whatever.

It wasn't the agent who got Maurice's truck, it was the underwriters.

If you have State Farm and are lifted OR lowered (they say if the bumper is moved from factory height), wait till you have a wreck and the underwriters see the pictures of the truck after it was fixed.

That doesn't sound like a very good idea. Good chance they won't cover the cost of the modifications then.

I wonder how much it differs between agents then because they took a look over my truck and took pictures when I insured it and they didn't care. As for the 302 I told them it was under the hood and the just wanted me to keep pictures and documentation of it to cover its expensive in the case of an accident.
