Gotta love Bob's Wisdom.
Yea, i've put switches like that in before. its a common used thing. He is right however, Make them put an OEM one in.
Also, Points for smacking the spring hanger with a hammer. Whats that worth? them doing it, or $500-600 bucks off asking price?

idk if its comparable but i had a reg cab f250 work truck and you'd be surprised how much crap you can cram back there if you need to...
years ago i was actually looking at getting a reg cab long bed w/ 4wd but was never able to find a good paying job. my buddy in high school had a 2nd gen reg cab short bed and i always remember him trying to fit 3 in that thing. he always had an extra body lying in the bed.
i am glad i decided to get an ext cab ranger over a reg cab f150. even though its cramped, its nice being able to fit 4 in my truck.
look at your history, have you ever had to carry more then 2 in your old truck? if you got a reg cab would you have access to a second vehicle to carpool if needed?

my dad has a 98 single cab, There is NO room inside for what we do lol, When we hunted before, me and dad would be in the truck going to our spots and we had to shove stuff (coats, bags, etc) if we didnt want it in the bed making noise behind the seats.
When I was shopping for mine the supercab was one thing I was looking for, more room, Plus it doubles as an ok bed since I can lay my seat back and take naps at work (have an hour lunch break, mandatory). I cant do that in dads truck at all.

There isn't a ton of room in the single cab, but if it's what you got then you'll make it work. Mine has enough room that it's not uncomfortable to drive.
My guess on that airbag switch is that they wanted an easy way to turn it on/off without taking their keys out of the ignition. If you do end up with this truck I would be willing to trade you my airbag switch since my airbags are non-functional now anyway.
