smashed exhaust

So due to my problems with my cheapo torsion key lift and aal, I removed both of them. Well ever since I removed the aal every time I hit a bump, my rear end makes a smacking sound. So tonight I got under there to find out what the problem is and it turns out that my differential is smacking my custom exhaust and putting quite the dent in it. Also my drive shaft I guess is too close to it because there are a bunch of scratches on it. A few months ago I had master muffler install a magna flow single in dual out and he built the pipe to cross over right above my differential. With the aal removed there is now only about an inch or inch and a half between them. I guess I will be re-doing my exhaust again

oh, sorry, its the rear diff thats hitting it. its a single in, dual out pipe and when the guy built the two tail pipes, he made the one so it crosses over right above the differential. and today when I tried towing my trailer and two quads I found out that it is rubbing on my drive shaft as well.

I'll go try and take some pics for ya.

Check the case on your parking brake to see if its burned/melted.

I had similar issues as well. If the muffler is laid flat, theres little to no room between the frame rail and drive shaft. The muffler will hit the drive shaft and score the shaft with gouges that run a full circle around it.

The way I solved this was to install the muffler vertically and have the pipes remade.

The case on the parking brake seems to be ok. I went down to the muffler shop today after work and told him my problem (leaving out one minor detail) and they remade the whole thing for me. For free. I changed it this time and now both tail pipes come out in front of the rear passenger tire. With the pipes being that much shorter it is sooo much louder and I LOVE it haha. Ill try to post a pic tomorrow.

whoever bent that stuff did a hackjob imo......shops around here hang everything tucked as high as possible away from moving parts. Horizontal muffler is a no no.

AWESOME! that they redid it for free...that's a shop i'd go back to.
