I'm running Duratracs, love them. The deeper it gets, the better the traction seems.

Everyone here will agree that Duratracs would be your best bet. You will have to pay for them though. Not cheap at all.

The Destination ATs are a great tire to. One of the best ATs for light snow and ice.

If I may, do you off road at all? A little mud every now and again? If so then defiantly spring for the Duratracs, best AT for off road I've ever seen on the market.

I have had both tires and the Duratracs are a better winter tire, they seemed very biased towards winter conditions in the design as in soft, a lot of siping, tread pattern, studdable. If you want a tire just for winter I would go with the duratracs.

The Firestones are quieter and handle better but dint have the deep snow or off road traction of the duratracs.

just looked on tirerack and yeah they are pricy 712!! - when I bought these michilins I wanted a tire that gave me some mpg instead of taking away like the big tires I had in the past but living in Wis.you need good tires but next winter I will have a good snow tire I just hope I dont have to lift the ranger to fit thse 16s also getting a custom tune done so big tires might not be so bad on gas.

I have never used either of those tires so I can't comment on them but I have Yokahama IT's on our Ranger and they are a great snow and Ice tire. We have never had any issues at all this winter on the highway or side roads.

Here is a pic of them.

I have Yokohama Geolander A/T-S and they did great in the snow this year. That tire above looks like it would put my tire to shame in the snow.

I just googled both those tires and they look like a good A/T but I do think the Yokahama's I have will out perform those in the snow and on the ice. But if you are looking for a year round tire then go with the two you mentioned.

That's what I've heard about each. The Duratracs are a great A/T but they are defiantly aggressive. They border on MT. The Firestones are a very mild A/T. For like SUVs and such. They have great wear and handling and manners as far as street A/Ts go but you loss out in deep snow, mud, and off road.

i have the Destinations on my F-150 and they are by far the best tire ive ever had in the snow ever. they have proven to be unstoppable in every snow condition ive had them in this year from deep powder snow, deep wet snow, slush, snow packed roads and everything in between. i love these tires. I personally hate crap year tires so i have no input on the duratracs.
