So yeah, Don't go off-roading alone!

Hey all,

Well yesterday I went to do some very minor driving in the bush so I am driving along and then crash, I just go through some ice. I couldn't move and it was getting dark. I called a few friends but there were hours away. I could see my house so I wasn't worried but I didn't want to leave the truck out there to have kids maybe break the windows and stuff so I just stayed. I was out there for like 4 hours before somebody could finally come out.

Here are a few pics.

So a Toyota 4runner ended up pulling me out but it took a good 20 minutes because there was no grip anywhere and when the would turn the winch on, it would pull him towards me!

lol Sorry about the big pics, I will resize them. Yeah it wasn't much fun but I did learn a leason. If it wasn't for all the ice, I would have gotten out I think. Also, if ALL 4 wheels were actually turning, I think I would have gotten out also.

And on the topic, that really sucks getting bogged down like that..! Figure what a couple lockers would do for ya in a situation like that, the only problem is.. you gotta get out to lock em if they arent done already

I thank god I didn't get water in my truck, I was close but not too close. How come you couldn't get out, was it because the engine was dead?

Dang that looks an awful lot like MO has been lately... we got bottomless mud under the frostline and slime on top of it.... plus a weekly snowstorm it seems.
