Sold the Ranger... :-(

Well, on Monday I sold my Ranger. I said many, many times that I'd never finance another vehicle, but last Saturday, I did it again. The transmission was getting worse and worse and the gas mileage was starting to go downhill, so I decided it was time to get rid of her and buy something else. It was a sad day handing the keys over to someone new, after 8 1/2 years, but the guy that bought her plans to drop a new transmission in and beat her up as a work truck...

My "new" vehicle... A 2011 Chevy Impala...

Stronger motor with better mileage, WAY more room.. (hell the trunk has more space than my entire cab!) built in Mp3, power everything, OnStar, Smooth ride... I'm sad to see the Ranger go, but have moved on nicely!

Had a 2010 in San Diego on vacation...very impressed with the mpg. Its going to take me a few different reasons to get back in a 4 door. Loved my Grand Marquis as long as I had it but enjoying that higher up driving sight line was worth it. Drove my dad's 2009 La Crosse last week, felt like I was riding on the ground. Getting out was quite the adventure to.

Thanks guys, I wasn't planning on buying a car, but I got a good deal and I've always had a thing for Impala's.. I actually wanted to go up to a full size truck but they were all out of my price range and I'm driving over 100 miles a day to work and back (round trip)

I test drove a Ford Fusion and wasn't impressed, at all. The interior was nice but it was jumpy and the transmission didn't shift smoothly at all. It, the Fiesta, and a work truck model 2011 Ranger were the only Ford's that were in my price range. I didn't see any Taurus's, though I wanted a Mustang, but the bank wanted an additional $2,000 downpay for it.

Aside from the Ranger, the cheapest truck on the lot was $19,000 and was a used 2012 GMC Sierra single cab work truck edition. Personally, I got extremely sick of having no power options at all, LoL...
