Sold the Ranger for a 77 Crewcab
#76
thanks guys, I dont know what I did to deserve these trucks, but Im not gonna question it!!! I was absolutely sick about getting rid of the 1st crew, that I spent alot of time on other forums just searching and wishing to buy another one. When this one with the cummins came along, I couldnt say no and I had just sold the FJ so I had $ in hand and needed another truck........ so I made the call and sent him a check. I'll keep you guys posted when I start making progress on this and finally get it painted and fix a few odds and ends. If you think my crew is nice check out this one on ebay...... as far as im concerned its the holy grail of crews. Search Item number: 140722726808

I think this is pretty funny..... im constantly looking for/at truck online and came across my old crewcab for sale from the guy who bought it from me and he even used the same description that i used when i sold it. he did alot of work and it looks much better than when i had it, but he had the money to put into it.

*** well i emailed him and said he made mistake and wasnt going to sell it anymore, he now wants to do a cummins conversion.
heres how it sits now:

those doorhandles are from an econoline van and are way more user friendly than the original style. mama loves the push button to open style. my old crew was tough for her to open, shes kinda short and had a hard time lifting the handles up with her little girl hands.
I like it, its just a little bit custom to go with a complete custom drivetrain truck. I just drove it home from Woodland WA, to Bakersfield, CA. 900 miles, 65-70 mph and got average 16 mpg, it took 14 hours and 30 min. The trailer was packed with couches, entertainment center, coffee tables, end tables, treadmill and all sorts of other weird household stuff my wife just couldnt live without.
I love this new truck!!!

Since there arent many Cummins Crews around I had to pay for it. It was 10k, but hey I couldnt build one for that much and I can drive it now and not wait 2+ years to build one. It was a little more than I wanted to pay for it, but a high demand gets a high price. Besides I sold the FJ for 13k, so I had some money left over to pay off some bills. I think it worked out great and I still couldnt be happier with the truck. Money well spent IMO. I plan on putting some non OE mods on this, as its my new DD. So I will update this as necessary.

So I found a site that has the 4bt cummins swaps, one guy is doing it to his ranger. Pretty cool truck that also got a Dana 60 SAS.
