Truck looks awesome, Cam!! I'm sure the above answered my question already, but are you still flying helis? I'm digging the heli-pad park job. I see your location changed to down south. Hope things are going well for you and your family.

Take Care,

Shane

Hey Shane, yep still living the dream and still flying on the central coast. All I can say is that mama is really happy with the progress on the truck. Got a few more pics of the latest addition.

Tailgate trim I found at the JY is in really good shape

Line-X box and rear slider. That trim was a PITA to install.

Happy dogs

Have you swapped the windshield yet? Those are worse.

Truck looks good though

Luckily I haven't had the need to mess with the front windshield or trim. I was looking at it, and It looks like a b|tch.

Most window shops won't touch them. I had to ask around until I found someone who knew how

Truck looks really good. Why Dodge seats? Just for the Frankenstein factor or did you get a deal on them? I suppose it could also be something with the Cummins... but figured you'd be able to answer that!

Dodge seats went in because of the great deal I got. $200 for front/rear matching leather. I was trying to find some F150 seats but the ones I saw all had the built in seatbelt, I really couldn't use those. Then the Ram seats popped up and the price was right. Those seats are a Godsent compared to those beat up old factory bench seats I was using.

What's the big deal about the windshield on these trucks?

It's a locking gasket, no sealant. You have to use a string to pull the gasket between the windshield and frame.

It's easy to tear the gasket or crack the windshield, and if start in the wrong spot you could screw it up.

Lots of old vehicles are like that. My '71 Chevy is the same way with the rope installed windshield gasket.

I know, I've had another 77 besides my F150 and my dad has a 76 Chevy.

Where I'm from I only found one guy willing to do it, there may be more, but when I do a frame off resto on my 77 I might have some custom work done to covert to a more modern gasket, in case it has to be replaced again.

I would like to learn to do it myself, but I'm afraid to try it and screw it up.

What makes it even worse is when you have the trim IN the gasket, most guys will just give up and get a trimless style gasket

I've done these gaskets on older cars before and the trick with the thin rope is put some Dawn dish soap in the groove with the rope. It works as a good lube initially then it does eventually dry almost like glue. It does work when you need it too.

I'm just messin with ya.

I want one badly, this just isn't the right time.

We don't have any extra space for another vehicle, hopefully after we buy a house we will have more room.

yea, Zach. Look whos talking!!!! I wouldnt have sold my Ranger if it had looked liked yours!

Justin, I gotta say you also have a mighty fine lil truck there too. At least you have Grandmas truck to play with. Hopefully when the time is right for you, the stars will align and you will find your perfect truck. It did for me, I still have a hard believing I managed to ****** FRANK up from a 1000 miles away. Now my father in Law kinda sees why I bought the truck. It sure was ugly when it was delivered to his house. He never saw the potential.
this is how it arrived at his house, I cant really blame him.
