solid front axle questions

are there any companies out there that have a solid front axle sawp kits for an 05 ranger edge 2wd

99ranger4x4 Oct 20, 2008 04:57 PM

didn't you already have a thread?

and no, no companies make any 'kits' for a SAS on any rangers like they do for Yodas.

start by getting 4wd.

04blackedge Oct 20, 2008 05:03 PM

A shop will charge you 5k+ for one too

+ 1,000,000

If you don't next will be how to swap, then what are the best parts, then after days of pricing parts you'll be questioning engine/tranny swaps then realise how much work it is and go no where quick.

Cut your losses and get a 4wd, if you're serious about it.

I did one in a week, on Evan's truck Rangererv

It takes a ton of time and work.

I have done mine twice and have well over 10k in the stupid thing!

canesfan101 Oct 20, 2008 06:22 PM

canesfan101 Oct 20, 2008 06:40 PM

Dude really. Not being an ass here but this is like the third thread about SAS'ing your truck. Just use the search button and find some info out.

People who have done SAS off the top of my head:
Zabeard
Edgewannabe
HighrollerII (doing it now)

4x4 Conversion:
Edgewannabe
That guy with the white regular cab short bed with a cap. Can't remember his name.

04blackedge Oct 20, 2008 06:52 PM

04 Edge is who your referring too.

Jey has done one too and he did Brenton's. I cant remember his name though. Theres that other guy that competes with his all the time but I don't know his name.

If you really have to ask this question then a SAS is not for you at all. Read all the SAS threads on this forum. When you've done that. Read every single one of them 10 more times. Scour the pictures for several weeks. KNOW what you'll be getting into long before you seriously consider collecting parts.

You have a long long road of research ahead of you. A SAS is not something you can just jump into even if you have the money.
