ya so a week ago or so i was topping off wiper fluid, checked my oil and everything for that rochester meet.
then today, i pop the hood and hose it down, just a general wash down, nothing too picky, when i notice my oil cap missing. Now. It was there last time i had the hood open, and its gone today.
Now. the truck has been running fine, no problems at all.
However, I KNOW water got into that lil hole, prolly not much, maybe 1/4 a cup. but still Im gonna change the oil and filter.... anything elese i can do?

Hey uhh I was thinking, what if he parked his truck inside with the oil cap off and a heater running for for a day or two? like, get the garage really hot (but obviously nowhere near a dangerous level, altho it isn't easy to light oil on fire).
Because all the water is going to seperate to the top of his oil and draining it isn't going to get that water too well. But he could force a lot of the water to evaporate out of his engine.

alright, i got it back together, gonna head to a job interveiw and then to my buddies to get my cap. right now i used an old beer can, cut it in half and then taped it to the filler tube with HVAC tape. I thought about duct tape, but I was afraid it would melt. i also poked a hole in the beer can to let any moisture out.

Noo. The furnace. If he ran his engine the oil and water would just mix up real quickly.
