Some new "mods" if you will...

Driveshaft is longer. 2" longer. Alot of people probably wish their shaft was 2" longer, for free.

What happens to pinion bearings if you forget to put oil in your diff??

Say bye bye D60, the outer pinion bearing has welded itself to the pinion. We heated it up and beat the **** out of it with a huge *** sledge hammer, we successfully destroyed the pinion (made it about 2" shorter) and it didn't budge.

damn! You did a good number on that pinion! Any other ideas for what you can do to get it out? It seems to be such a waste of a good axle = (

Well, the quality of the picture (the one under the hood, that is) leaves something to be desired, lol.

Sorry about that diff! This is, for me, a constant worry. I am SO absentminded about stuff sometimes, I figure it's just a matter of time before I do something like that.

Nice upgrades Jey, is that D60 going in the project truck or is that the one from yours?

The d60 is out of my friend jeremy's xj.

We are going to try and torch the bearing off the pinion and see if we can scavange at least the housing to be used again, but it's highly doubtful. It's probably time for a new d60. He just welded the caliper brackets for rear discs on there too.
