sorry if this is a repeat.

ok so i have an opportunity at a 2003 reg cab ranger it was a roll over. i have a 97 ranger and i like my truck cause its the style side. my favourite. the 03 has the 4 litre and manual tranny my trucks got a standard but the 2.3 so im doing a total electronic swap over and everything. all i want is to swap the body and bed onto this truck. the frames straight just the 03's body is toasted. k and help would be awesome.

would my 97 ranger reg cab body fit on an 03 4.0l 4x4 reg cab frame??? im planning on just using the 03's wiring and wondering if it will swap over as well or not? thank you.
or would i be better off swapping the running gear over?

and i just need the straight forward answer i do like chit chat but a straight forward answer would be nice.

no. stepside frames are skinnier than straight side frames, plus the differencer in years changed the front ends a bit.

stepside frames are not skinnier. frame width is the same

no they are not. the frames are different. 98+ went to torsion bar, or controls arms depending on 2/4wd. also, 98+ reg cab gained 3" behind the doors, therefore making the wheel base 3" longer. 93-11 beds are the same, other than the addition of a few extra bolts in 08 or so.

OP, it would probably be easier to just swap the motor/trans/wiring over. esp seeing how you have both complete trucks. park them side by side and just start swapping. you will need all the wiring, probably the fuel pump, etc.
