cold/humid start problem

After several days of rain or high humidity my 2001 ranger will start and die if I don't accelerate to 2000rpm. At lower rpm it runs rough. If I let off, it will die. If I run it for 5 minutes or wait until sun warms it up it runs good. This started 2 years ago - happened twice. A couple more times last year and several times this fall. I'm thinking condensation on a circuit board or a valve sticking. Any ideas?

What engine is it?

I think there was a TSB about the early 2000's Rangers, they moved the PCM(computer) and connector to the upper center of the firewall, this caused a problem with moisture getting into connector.
They added a second cover over it after cleaning connections.

Unhook the battery!!!
Then remove that connector and see if it looks clean and dry inside.

cold/humid problem

Thanks RonD. Once I locate this part I will wait for it to act up then I will use a hot air gun to warm up the part and try it again. I will let you know if I locate the problem. I used to drive it more and it was in a garage until 6 years ago so it never acted up during the first 12 years.
