my 08 has had these problems since day one. i assumed the squeeks were suspension related.

the window, doesn't bother me that much.

The reason I didn't ask is because it is my understanding that some ford salesman are telling new ford owners they have limited slip rear ends when according to ford they NO longer offer the limited slip, so that would mean it is an open diff and these new ranger owners are just believing the bull **** the sales man is saying.

I am just looking for some FACTS and real world tests. It's all good:biggrin:

I would do it if somebody asked me and if I only spun one tire while traction control is OFF i would be PISSED because I was lied to.

No where on the BUILD YOUR FORD RANGER WEB SITE does it mention OR offer as an option a limited slip!!!

or he could check the proper way and jack the rear end and spin one wheel and see how the other reacts (same direction= ls opposite direction=open diff)

even an open diff truck is likely to spin both on gravel

exactly. it bugged the hell outta me. got my truck with 7k miles and it stopped at around 20k.

my truck did the same exact thing from what it sounds like.

it's just suspension noise man, mine does it over speed bumps and all lol

Sixt9coug May 15, 2010 08:35 PM

my windows still skip and chatter when I lower them occasionally.

I have a LS diff too :D but what's the big deal if his has it or not? It's not supposed to and I've gotten two marks on the ground before even with an open diff.

my windows squeal at me constantly haha, its like they're letting me know they're going and yeah my ruts prove an Open diff can give you two lines in the ground as well. I see he got it fixed so my suspension post is pointless here.

if i hear a loud squealing, and i see two marks on the ground behind me, does that mean i have a limited open slip diff. twitch problem with my foot?

k.low May 16, 2010 06:28 AM

Did it multiple times yesterday and i'm leaving two marks.

depends on the surface your doing it on, and theres no such thing as a limited open slip diff.

the way I suggested earlier is currently the only proper way to check if you have ls or not without taking the truck apart

It was a joke

btm757 May 17, 2010 04:51 PM

I used to be able to spin both tires on an open diff.... The spider gears would bind up and both wheels would spin
