dang good thing i got it looked at

but i had my differential looked at today and he said the breather valve was completely pinched shut, he said it came from the factory like that, cuz i told him i haven't been of road with it , maybe it did , maybe it didn't who knows ,
....but all is well now

makes sense. the trucking company i work for bought over 300 brand bew volvo transport trucks in the last two years and every one of them has had the breather valves painted over so they dont breathe. this has been causing them to blow seals constantly. we have had to change every valve under warranty

This might be dumb but, where exactly is the breather located on a 02 FX4? I always paint the rearend and want to make sure I'm not plugging anythng up.

^^ its on the right or left side of the pumpkin its not a long hose. i think it runs with the brake hose. mine was like this on my front axle cut the end off beause it was plugged fixed my leak

Cool, thanks downey. I have no problems yet, but just would like to keep an eye on it.
