Hello : I'm new to this form. My son has a 1989 Ranger with a 5.0 Mustang motor with a five speed . Just a blast to drive. I'm going to retire and looking to buy a new ranger maybe a level 2. Need advice about engine size, gearing, what options to look at. I think you have a nice form here. Thanks.

Well.....the level two comes standard with a 4.0 V6, 4.10 gearing, Torsen L/S rear, full power options(mirrors/locks/windows). It's the complete package with a few variables like manual or auto tranny, 60/40 seats or buckets. Nitty Gritty stuff like that.

If you have the means the Level 2 is the way to go. Your options are really limited to Cloth or leather, Stereo, transmission, wheels, and color.

If you wait until some good incentives are out you should be able to get one for about $24k USD

 

Level II is that way to go! Take it from sombody who was a 2wd model with not as many cool toys. If i had the $$ I'd have one.
