I have seen that article before. I just laugh when i see it because out of all the accidents that i see where a vehicle has rolled its an SUV.

plus theyre only talking about the 4x4s and edges... xlts have the lower stance and better rollover prevention...

either way, it may roll, but I can gurantee you that more than likely you will walk away from it. Just look at the ones that have rolled on here.

Yeah ive done some pretty risky moves in my truck and didnt get near being on 2 wheels, like 80mph quick lane changes, scary fast. lol.. now that was before my lower profile tires, traction bars, and upgraded sway bars. I think we all know the limits of our trucks, and dont need some a$$clown at Forbes telling us our trucks arent the safest vehicle.

I personally know 3 people that have rolled a ranger. All three occasions happened during the winter and i am pretty sure it was due to excessive speed (even though they wont admit it). A vehicle is a safe as you drive it.

This is very true. If you've got a lifted truck, for gods sake don't drive it like a sports car.

That being said, and having rolled a ranger of my own, I'd say they're pretty damn safe even in a rollover.

ya i read about that.
its how u drive.
the ranger is like seems to be a very common 1st car for kids...that doesnt help the rating cause everyone knows how you drive when you 1st get ur licence.
its all about who is behind the wheel.

I rolled my first one onto it's side, but that was my fault, when I was 16. I hydroplaned and cut the wheel too hard in the opposite direction. we rolled it back over and drove it home.

i could care less about any rating 90% of them are skewed anyway. plus where did they get there sample? how big was the sample size? all these things unanswered. take a statistics course then stuff like this you will find means absolutly nothing in most cases.

I knew a girl that rolled her ranger and killed her passenger, but he wasnt wearing a seatbelt so he was ejected and the truck rolled over him. Excessive speed was the main factor. She went off the shoulder and overcorrected. I've never come close to rolling mine and thats with a lift. I suppose if you dont get stupid you should be ok.

I'm curious as to how exactly they determine that a ranger will roll 1 in 3 times? What exactly are their test factors. They dont tell you how they came up with those numbers.....

I had an EDGE with cranked and leveled Tbars, plus taller tires (32s) which were only 10.50 wide and my truck was very solid. The only upgrade to the suspension I made was ProComp ES3000 shocks...which are nothing to write home about, and I never felt like my truck was tippy.

The Tacomas I have driven and ridden in felt much tippier and more bouncy...ie more likely to hit something and come unglued from the road.

whatever, like others said, it's amazing how many of these "reports" are utter biased bullcrap.
