"Stay away from the Ford Ranger"
#27
When my wife told her grandparents that we got our newer vehicles, gramps first question was did Dan get a Toyota or a Ford. When she said a Ranger, he right away said that they roll. (Of course he would never believe a Dodge could roll, thats been his make as long as Ive heard stories from him)
Any car can roll. My moms fiance was on his way to work a few years ago in a 90 Toyota Celica. Straight piece of highway and a dry day. He looked to his left to make a lane change, and then as he double checked there was a car there. He jerked over back to his lane and went to far, he rolled either 3 1/2 or 4 1/2 times, he was hanging upside down from his seatbelt, thats when I started wearing mine all the time

42.3% of all statistics are made up. (lol)
Seriously, I was in a big dirt field once in the Desoto National Forest doin doughnuts and I hit a tree root goin sideways that was burried in the dirt. I had to have been goin sideways at like 40mph, hit the tree root, and just stopped. I thought as soon as it hit that me and my buddy were gonna have to roll my truck back on all fours, but no, nothing happened. Now, my truck is as stock height with stock suspension and sway bars. That should tell you something about that report... it's lying!!!

Stay away from the Ford Ranger??.......30% chance of a rollover in a single vehicle accident???...........Hmmmm, that would have been a crappy sticker to see on the window at the dealership.....LOL
Anything with a high center of gravity has the chance of a rollover.......in any case.....ANYTHING can rollover. Give me a dropped rice rocket...I'll roll it!!!
Stats like that just make me laugh.

for the money we all spent on our rangers, imho the ranger IS the safest vehical on the road. Period. Look at all the accidents people have had just on this board, they all walked away. you have atleats 6ft of crumple zone behind you, and a good 4 ft in front. ranger is pretty safe in my book. tho its a skinny truck with a high center of gravity, where as other vehicals are a lil wider, plays a part, but ill take my ranger over a lil jap car in an accident any day.
