I am installing a new lower ball joint on my 98 ranger and purchased the Moog bootless ball joints. I was very concerned when I went to hook up the steering knuckle and it looked like I had a tear in my brand new ball joint. Maybe I am freaking out for no reason. I can place the tip of my finger and run it around the stud between the rubber and the stud almost as though I can stick my finger inside the boot. When I put it on I greased it with 3 pumps of grease no more. Is this normal for those bootless ball joints.
