Not that it really matters, However these are not the "Line Of Fire" as LOF is made by Altec and these are by Recon. Pretty much the same product, just a different manufacture. As the Altec Line of fire, can NOT be cut, If you remove the last LED, you loose LED's all across the bar. Not all of them, just speradic (sp) ones on the bar. But if Recon makes it so you can cut it, that would be nice.

Altec wires their LED's in series fashion...

Recon does however, wire their LOF's in a series parallel manner so when an LED goes out you don't lose the rest of them

Isn't that said backwards? If I remember right if they are wired in parallel theye will all go out if one goes out because they require the previous one to get power. But maybe I am backwards

I am not sure why but for some reason I can't help but think that when it's wired in parallel, likethe old christmas lights, if one went out, the all went out. When the were wired in series, one could go out, like a turn signal and the rest still work. But maybe it is the exact oppisite. I think that we are thinking the same thing though, I am just backwards probably.

series wiring...one wire from positive ran to the first light, then from that light to the next...and the last light in the string returns the ground signal

parallel wiring.... has a power wire to each light as well as an independent ground...that way if a wire gets cut or a bulb blows, the other lights will continue to burn

If you wanna pay like three times the price that Wayne has them for then yes they make them for a stepside. I have personally call Recon for Wayne when he first got these and you CAN cut one or two LEDS off the bar and make it fit with no operational issues.

Don't worry about how they are wired, it works with the way that Wayne sells them for that truck
