I say leave your truck as is. besides ford doesn't even make flareside beds anymore, so you'd have to find a donor vehicle or one in a junk yard, which means it would probably be the wrong color or is damaged.

First off, YES, YES, YES, a millions times YES ! If you didn’t see my Photo Section, Steppies are the only way to go.

OK now that, that is out of the way, if you want a Stepside and like the way it looks then yes do it.
More of the Steppie Beds are coming in at the JYs now and you should be able to locate a good one for short cash.
The std cabs look better with the Stepside Beds but the Ext Cab look OK too.
My Wife drives an 98 Ranger ext Cab Steppie, got it cheap so the beds are out there.

If you lived closer to MA there are a few in the local JY, probably get one for $200.
Thinking on it NJ isn’t to far away… I can check on it if you want ?

Luck on the choice,

naw, the odds of finding that colour is rare, you loose space might not be much but it's still lost space. styleside is easier to replace/fix after an accident.

reg cabs do look better then ext. cabs tho...

I wouldn't do it. Stepsides on extended cab trucks looks weird unless its the right truck, Randy's truck looks badass with it. Single cabs with stepside beds are awesome though....if my truck was a single cab i would instantly go get myself a stepside....scrambler's truck looks awesome with the stepside single cab combo plus lift

First thanks 99offroadrngr, but all to their own.
What’s been said above may hold water in general but the only way is for you to look around at some of the trucks on this site and other sites and then decide what you like.
I mounted the stepside bed to my EDGE first thing. I liked the look of it at stock height and lifted a little, so everyone has to decide on their own what is right for them.

If you want it, go for it. I'd trade you beds if you didn't mind getting a DSG step side with some cracks in it from wheeling.

Don't forget, you'll also be needing a new bumper and tailgate to go with the bed.
