LiveWire is more high-tec, and scangauge is just straight to the point.

I think LiveWire holds tunes as well, SG doesn't.

Those are two completely different products. I'd say the SCT Livewire is more for performance. It is a programmer and a performance monitor. You can also data log with it.

The Scangauge just shows you info that the ecu sees. Also the Scangauge is is $150ish and the SCT is $600.

the live wire is like combining an xcal II tuner with a scanGaugeII unit since one displays data and one allows custom tunes. I would probably buy the two units separately. You can spread the dollars by buying them separately.

Set the engine size, difference in tire size(they give you an equation) and tank size and its done. If you want tranny temp, fuel level or any other functions that aren't already programmed into the unit all you have to do is enter codes.

Also follow the instructions carefully when you set it up. I didn't and I got false mpg readings.

I'm going to have a review of another brand scan gauge up soon, I'm still in the testing phase so it will be about a week before it's posted.

It's easy enough. I say when you get it go to the station and fillup then do the setup. What I did was set the tank size at home then drove until i needed gas. When you set the tank size it thinks you have a full tank. When I did fillup it thought I had 26 gallons in a 19 gallon tank so the MPG reading were way low.

There is a lot of differences in it, but the review will fully cover that.
