Hi, I just purchased a 2011 Ford Ranger. Is the Ford Maintenance Protection Plan a good idea. I never trust car companies and find the whole buying procedure pretty unpleasant. Thanks.

Depending on how much they want for it its good. They do oil changes and all that so if you don't know a lot about vehicles its a good idea.

 

I have it on my 2009. It's not just oil changes, for me it was all recommended servicing for 5 years, so that includes flushes and other things too. Was quite the savings getting it, I think I paid 55% of what I would had I just brought it in there following the maintenance schedule. Plus, there's nothing better than not having to shell out money every time just cause you dropped your truck off there.

 

I have it on my 2010 ranger and 09 escape. Good protection to have.

 

Normally they are NOT a good idea to purchase.

Besides... your truck is BRAND SPANKIN' NEW and it comes with the standard Ford warranty. I'd never buy a warranty for a new car. I have purchased a warranty for a used car once... and THAT was worth it. POS Blazer.
