thats for the light on your hood, when the switch is down the circuit is open and the light doesnt light. when the pin goes up (hood open) the circuit is completed and turns on the hood light

TheStig88 Sep 20, 2009 04:22 PM

it creates the fusion in your flux capacitor.......

My hood is currently UP and the light is on and I was holding DOWN the pin!! Shouldn't the light have gone out when I held down the pin?

that switch is not for the light, the light has a mercury switch inside of it. let me look at a wiring diagram and see what it does because it escapes me at the moment

that switch is part of the anti-theft system, the panic alarm should go off if the vehicle is locked and the hood is then popped with the doors shut

99ranger4x4 Sep 20, 2009 05:03 PM

is there a light on your dash possibly telling you the hood is open? lol
