How can I trim my side bed caps?

I ordered a set of bed rail caps for my 2005 Ford Ranger Edge and when I went to install them, they cover up part of the letters (Edge) at the top. I need to trim them about 1/4 or so inch so that they will not cover up the top part of the letters.

Any suggestions on how to trim the hard rubber bed caps so that they will still look nice on the truck, the hard rubber is really tough.

According to the company that I bought the caps from, they are supposed to fit a 2005 Ford Ranger Edge, but someone did not know what was on the side of the truck.

Thanks,

Gary

Let it sit in the sun and you could pull them off but a heat gun at a safe distance can make easy work of it. Once it get it started, it'll peel off clean reguardless.

heatgun or hair dryer will take them off. just don't keep the heat on there too long.
