Sunroof anyone????
#1
I was driving earlier today with the windows down and started to miss my sunroof from my other car.. I never like to use the AC in my truck.. or car, or cars. i just dont like to use AC at all.. but the truck only draws so much air into it.. has anyone ever put a sunroof in their Ranger?? I've got an Ext. Cab so I'm thinking of putting one in.. anyone got any input?? any attempts to do so yet?

I don't know of anyone who has put on in after the fact, but I know swoop1156 (Adam) bought his truck with one in it. And I was very jealous. Been contemplating eventually doing it to mine because I liked it so much.
I personally say go for it. But, you may want to have it profesionally done.
And I remember a discussion about it somewhere a while ago about possible structural support problems in the event of a rollover. Don't remember any of the details though.

Yeah I just really like having the roof opened and miss it alot.. If i were to go ahead and do it, i'd definately get it done professionally at some shop. there's no way i'd ever trust myself to cut a large rectangle out of my roof.. the structual support problem has also come across my mind, but i guess a shop would be the people to tell me if it were doable or not, i got no idea on that one. i'm gonna ask a couple shops what they think about it this weekend sometime.

I have a sunroof. One of the best mods to the truck yet. I've put them in myself, but beings how I only had the truck for a couple of months I let the dealer put them in. As to the safety concern. Yes the support beams are cut but there is an innner & outer trim ring that you bolt together which ties everything back in. Is it safe. I don't know. I'm not really worried about it. 8)

thats cool then.. i've called a couple places around here lookin for estimates.. the one place told me to call back cuase someone i'd need to talk to wasn't in or something like that, and the other place i called had 3 different models they could put on my truck.. one for 750, one for 850, and one for 950.. so prices are about the same i guess.. except i was told none of them were internal.. what brand are you getting, do you know???
