Looking at getting this Ranger, need info from the suspension Gods
I'm looking into getting this '94 Ranger with the 4.0 and a solid axle swap already done. Here are a few pics of the suspension. Does it look to be set-up well? They say it doesn't have rear brakes because they had to get rear rotors custom made. Looks like a 9" in the rear, but I can't really tell.

the brake line is connected to the coil o.O Ooookay.. I guess if there is enough slack then whatever.. but eesh, lol. I dunno, looks somewhat spotty to me - I'm not a pro, nor do I know much about suspension setups in the way of an SAS - I would tend to avoid any homebrew jobs and do they work yourself if you have the cash and/or means to do it.

not sure if thats a 9" or not. get a pic of the front of it.
and i agree....pinion angle sucks big ones. fix that and get some new coils and it wouldnt be a bad setup. get rid of that square tubing tie rod though. one nice little rock and that thing is toast unless its reinforced correctly. or you can just sleeve it and call it a day. that will make it beefy. lets just say, alot of the HARD work is out of the way. but it def needs some rework and some tlc

Those look like old Bronco arms up front.. Hell the hole front sus. could have come from one.. Lil bit of Tweaking (pinion angles better springs) and I say it would Wheel really well.. I remember seeing some lifted Bronc's with coils that bent inward like that, kind of the nature of the beast when you get coils that long... It could be a james duff coil,, (color) Some adjustment with the lower spring plate (level it out) and a slightly smaller spring would help.
What does the engine compartment look like? and what is it geared with?
If the price is right I say do it!! good project/trail truck.

Throw some longer radius arms on there while your at it. Cage makes some really really nice ones, or just lengthen the original ones.
Pinion angle should be the first thing on the list though. The coils do not have to be perfectly parallel, but that looks a little extreme. It looks like he just got lazy and slapped them in.
But it looks like it is a D44 front and a 9 inch rear. Good combo to start out with that is for sure.
What is he asking for it?
