no lights!!!! need help ASAP!!!!
today i noticed all my lights are not working. only my headlights and brake lights work.(by brake lights, i mean, only when the pedal is pressed.) i have no fog lights, license plate lights, tail running lights, corner lights, or the amber lights in side of the headlight housing.(turn signal)
i work with my father for our construction company and i general put about 100-200miles on my truck a day going from job-site to job-site. i always run with my parking lights and fog lights on all the time as it is a habbit. if my truck is on, my lights are on.
my truck was on while hooking up to my flat bed trailer and i noticed that the lights on the trailer did not turn on when i plugged the 7-pin in to the connector. i looked at the tail lights and they were not on either. i proceeded to check the headlight switch, the fog light switch, the corner lights.... nothing was on.
i picked up a new headlight switch, hoping that would cure my issue, and to my surprise it didnt fix the problem. further testing also showed that with the key out of the ignition, and the headlights on, the chime did not sound as it should to remind you while exiting the vehicle that the lights are on. as well as the dimmer switch should be able to turn the cab light on in the far up-right position. it does not do so.
anyone have any ideas based on the information provided?

Now for the not-so-good news - there was a reason why the fuse melted and it will probably happen again. Unfortunately, as you can see, Fuse 33 serves a bunch of lamps so narrowing it down might take some work.
For the exterior lamps, it would be anything powered via the solid brown wire. For the interior lamps, light blue/red would be the color to check out.
I'd look first at any non-factory wiring that may have been added for things like aux lighting or an aftermarket trailer plug. In the meantime, better carry some spare fuses.

i had a problem with my factory 4-pin about a year ago. after investigating into it, i came to find the brown wire had become brittle some how or another. i had followed the wire back as far as i had to go till the copper looked clean and replaced it with new and installed a Hopkin 4/7-pin. since then i havent had any issue. i believe the fuse blew at the time i hooked the 7-pin to the connector as that is the point i noticed the issue. ill be sure to look into it more in the a.m. and give an update.
thank you again for the help.
