taking the doors off??

I used to have a wrangler and drove around all the time with the doors off. I have seen a few pics around of rangers with their doors off, 99ranger4x4 has some pics of wheelin without the doors on. On my jeep there were no speakers in the doors and no bolts on the hinges, they just popped right off. You guys who take the doors off... do you have other speakers in the front? or what do you do just disconnect the wires and pop the doors off? How is the volume without the doors off? Or do you not even bother with the radio? Is it just a simple clip that disconnects?

lol sorry guys just read up on it, I learned that the doors on our trucks are part of the structure and it is unsafe to take them off in case the vehicle rolls, and that it is illegal in some states to not have doors, and jeeps are allowed to since they have sides on the floor.

4 bolts and some vehicles have a pin in the hinge that pops out.

every time you take the door off, you'll have to realign it when you put it back on, otherwise you might end up with saggy doors, or doors that dont latch properly.

adding to this question, to those that have done this, how do your speakers sound with quick disconnects on the speaker wire? i have to take my doors off to paint the bottoms and im guessing ill have to cut the speaker wire short of unplugging my speakers and fishing the line back through the door. just want to get an idea because if they sound fine with disconnects ill just do that...

also, if you do this, i would mark the location or the hinges so that you can easily realign them when they go back on

if your worried about the safety risk, don't do it..

i took a flat head screw driver and stratched the outline of the hinge into the paint so its nice and easy to line up.

and for the speaker doors i have the 4 pin trailer wire harness, they sound just fine.

i didnt even think about that. where is this door dinger wire because i find it to be worthless and inconvenient when i have music playing from my parked truck.

i would only keep mine off at my parents house because i would just steal the garage for the night

If you do the door dinger mod, you wont have that issue. It'll confuse the truck to think the passenger side door is always open. Thus no door dinger if driverside is open and key in ignition.
