Heater Control Valve

Here I go again: My heater control valve on my 96 ranger is electrical. The valve does not move when I turn the control **** in the cab. Can someone tell me how to check? I would assume I should get some kind of reading where the wire attaches to the valve and the reading should change as I turn the control ****? Maybe a blown fuse?

Fuse 10 in the cab fuse panel, 7.5amp, but it powers several other things so not likely to be the ONLY problem you would see, if it was blown

Heat control valve is in the cab, behind and above the glove box

Its called the Blend Door actuator

Google: ford ranger blend door actuator test

Watch the videos

The valve in the engine bay is vacuum controlled and only used for MAX AC, it shuts off flow thru heater core when Max cooling in the cab is needed

RonD---I am not sure exactly what I did to make it work, but after reverse flushing the heater core (golden yellow gunk and lots of it) came out. When water ran clear I hooked the hoses back up. I unplugged the connector from the controller behind the glove box, checked the voltages (good) plugged it back in and now I have heat coming from the heater.

Good work

Clogged heater core will limit available heat

Thanks for this bit of information. PO removed it due to it breaking into pieces, and it looks like I'm wasting money replacing it. That's ok though, I tend to do things right.
