Thinking about doing the 99-01 swap

I am thinking about doing the 98-01 swap on my 99(body swap). Basically I would be switching all the parts between 2 trucks. Here's the deal. Body swap is done but I have the 01 edge that I can't get the title for. I am using the 01 to rebuild the wrecked red 99 I bought. I am going to have to paint the rebuilt truck anyway so I'm thinking I might want to upgrade my 99...little confused, I can show you with pictures. Is it worth it?

As most of you know I buy and sell rangers all the time. I have kept the black 99 (bodyswap) for a while now for a couple of reasons. Its loaded and has a 4.0/5r55e which I think will hold up better to towing than the other trucks I've had. Along came a bargain on the other two trucks pictured. The Edge was an abondoned truck that was last registered in 2005 in alabama(title is clean but not available) The red truck has a clean title but was totaled so I am rebulding the red truck using the edge as a parts/frame for it. When complete the Edge will be the wrecked 99 and be for sale. Instead of selling the 01 front end on the rebuilt truck I am thinking of swapping it onto my black truck and using the front of the black truck on the truck I'm rebuilding...That should explain it. I guess the question is should I bother doing the swap?

I say do it, basically because I am big for the 01-03 body style.

I'd say do it. Is the Edge as beat up as it looks in the picture? It looks like it'll be a lot of work, but you aren't scared of that. Just a side note, body swap is a good looking truck as is.

Of course I'm partial, but I like the '98-00 front end better than the '01. At least when the truck is black in color and the chrome front bumper has the molding attached to it.

Not that the '01 front end looks bad, I'd proudly drive one, but IMO there's just a little too much sameness (as in color) in that design. Nothing to really distinguish the front end from the rest of the truck.

Mike-The edge is dinged up a little but not too bad, the bed has dents on both sides but its fixable. I agree that bady swap looks good as is I was just thinking of the newer look.
Joe- I'm with you on the sameness and the good looks of the 98-2000 front ends. I am thinking clear corners and eventually a chrome bumper to add to the 01 looks. Maybe even a grill but I am not a big fan of the billet grills with the straight bars across, maybe a mesh type stainless grill.
