well I wouldn't get a 6.0 if someone gave it to me haha. I'm talking reliability and not having to deal with all the emission BS that they have to deal with.

Sure you might put out some power with some add ons but you also will put it in the shop every 6 months. New diesels can't seem to make it to 100,000 miles without them being worn out.

I would never get a diesel period. I have NO REASON at all to get one. If I got an F-250 or 2500 I would just get the biggest V8.

x2 on the diesel. They're nice to have but there's really no point unless you're hauling heavy loads on a regular basis. A newer F150 with a 5.4 will easily tow your ranger or camper, gas mileage may not be the best while towing, but you're not going to be towing with it 24/7.

that is true... if not a diesel maybe a gasser. i like f150s but id rather have a f250 crewcab found a few 250 crews with lows miles for the same price as a 250 diesel with 100,000 miles

Yeah the new F-150 with the 5.4 is like 12,000 lb towing. That is MORE than enough.

Not sure about the F-250 5.4.

Either way you will be saving money in the long run on gas. Sure it will suck when towing but when your not towing you will be happy that you didn't buy the diesel.

Hell, if you want a lot of power w/o getting a diesel, get a '99-'07 F2/350 with a v10. They're not too bad in price. I found a '99 XLT F250 v10 4x4 ext. cab with 48,000 miles for under $14,000 on auto trader.

so on the 6.0's (all the years) they have issues with the oil coolers, and the egr systems. they have egr deletes( worth every penny) and the have after market oil coolers. both of these are great mods to do to them. however they 6.0's get crap milage. small displacement relying on boost for power...boost is created from fuel...
personally i think they are the best looking super duty's and are fairly quite (not as quiet as the dmax or new 6.7 cummins). they also ride decently with the 4 link. and they are fairly easy to pick up cheap.
