I want a 4bt

YouTube - 4bt Smoker

Soo Yeah I want one in my Ranger one day when I have the money to get another truck to drive.

Anyway what is the average cost of putting a 4bt in a Ranger?

a site you should probably look at....

Cummins 4BT & Diesel Conversions Forums

There's a few Ranger builds there too...

And it ain't cheap. It ain't no 5.0 swap. More like 2.5 5.0 swaps.

Too much smoke. That would be annoying as hell.

It's the mpg that makes it an even more badass swap. Some guys are pulling 300hp and 500ft/lbs on full builds. That in an Explorer, a guy was pulling 30mpg's with a stock 4BT.

If you have money do it. I know a guy that has a 4BT sitting in his shop ready for me to take. Just don't have the money right now

I'm just raggin on Korey. He doesn't offroad and meh, 2WD is okay at offroading. Until you save up the $$ and get 4WD.

As much as I hate to see some white-rim sunglass d-bag driving a lifted D-Max, Stroker or Cummapart smoking out everyone in sight being an obnoxious a-hole that has never touched a trailer or dirt road, I partially disagree.

Better mileage, bigger truck, more interior room/seating, higher payload, more power, better reliability (this is controvercial and in some cases not sure) and a far better bang-for-the-buck power upgrades.

Just another "butthurt"(?) Canadian redneck/farmer.
-------------------------------

As for the topic, if you have the money and know-how go for it. I would love to do it to mine for a street-truck setup, but the weight and height discourage me. A mild 4bt in a crew-cab 4x4 Ranger = awesome!

Yeah like I said unless you're towing you shouldn't be driving a diesel truck, thats all they should be used for.

There was a guy over at the 4bt swap site I linked earlier with a 4bt in his explorer....pulling like 30mpg with a pretty stock *** motor.

There's guys that build 'em up that are laying down 500+ ft/lbs with a single hairdryer. Alot of the mods that can be done to the first gen ISB 6BT can be done to the 4BT. They're all mechanical which makes it nice and easy to work on. I still want one. And no, I don't care how "gay" they are to you Korey. I like me my cummin'.

Diesel are built like a brick ****house, and 30mpg the thing would pay for itself.

He mentioned he had to put in like 2.73 gears to get it geared right because it got up to speed so flippin' fast, he needed to drop the rpm's on the freeway. lol.
