That time has come... after 15 years.. to part with my Ranger
For the past year, the ranger hasnt been on the road (14 months)
Since aprile of last year its been parked in my shop.
I got a new bed for it, removed the old. the seller said minor surface rust on the bed rails - MASSIVE SURFACE rust... ugh... but I got the bed for $200. its off a 2011 grey... my truck is red. I sanded down the bondy, and used marine primer and 2 part marine epoxy to repaint the bed (outer parts 4 coats), red... rolled it on with a mini and tipped it out...
The longer the bed has sat the harder that paint has become.
So the bed is in my garage, and the truck is in my shop. with no rear brakes. It needs new lines... and rear brakes...
In a couple of weeks, me and my nieghbor will tow it to my local mechanic (hes very reasonable) to replace the leafs, brake lines, water pump, and install new rear brakes. After that it gets towed home, I install the new bed, lights, and put it up for sale.
Its no longer registered nor insured. the plates off it went on to my 'new' car which gets 50mpg... vs the ranger 13.
2013 Ford Energi Cmax. with 44K miles. I paid off the $4800 loan and took possession.
The ranger, has about 106K original miles. 4x4, xlt valu pkg, full skid plates, fog lights, power leather seats, custom dash, ect... many mods, none of which impacted or altered the electrical system of the truck itself.
The ranger has served me very well for 14.5years, but its time to move on. For the past 1+ yr I have survived with out it. and the car? gets 3+ x the mileage....
Given the demand these trucks have, I expect to get 5-6K for it.

I still have it lol...
Its now parked (on a paved surface) behind my house... I start it about once every 2 weeks...
Hope to get it to my mechanic soon... still has no brakes...
And the marine grade primer (supposedly the best **** out there for rust) I am totally UNHAPPY with.,.. I would have been better off with rustoleum... total garbage.
